Last year AOP celebrated Ganesh Puja in a grand way at Heggade Bhawan, Airoli. Around 250 families had participated in the Ganesh Mahotsav which included Puja, Prasad, Scintillating cultural programs and lot of other elements of celebration. A special magic show was arranged for the kids and they enjoyed it thoroughly.
Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan
Inspired by ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ launched by honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, AOP organized one cleanliness drive on 2nd October 2016 and have cleaned the patch between D’Mart to DAV Public School, Airoli
Blood Donation Camp
Being focussed towards continuous engagement with social cause and living up to its social responsibility, every year AOP organises blood donation camps in association with Navjeevan Blood Bank, Thane. AOP volunteers also donate blood for needy patients at Tata Memorial Hospital, Parel from time to time
We all know how trees help to mitigate climate change by sequestering Carbon Dioxide as they grow. Aopian Mr. Pavitra Maharana and his wife have set an example for the people in Airoli in spreading awareness for a “Green And Clean Environment” by planting around 200 trees in Airoli and adjoining areas.
AOP orchestrated an unique program “Yoga for Women” led by Rashmita Sabat, a renowned women Yoga teacher in the Navi Mumbai region which attracted many women to participate and get the benefit from the program. The classes are going on a regular basis in an open environment at sector-20 garden, Airoli on every Saturday at 6 to 7.30 in the morning.
Saraswati Puja is a Hindu festival dedicated to the goddess of knowledge Maa Saraswati. In Odisha it is celebrated in every educational institutions and household, where as it is rarely seen in Mumbai. Like last year, this year also we celebrated Saraswati Puja at our registered office in a modest way. Around 300 members participated in Puja and the dinner that was arranged in the evening.
The Mother Tongue is part of a child's personal, social and cultural identity. As we are away from our home state, our children are not getting the chance to learn our language. So keeping the importance of learning our own language, AOP has started with conducting Odia classes on every Sunday. The teachers have formulated a curriculum in the view of educating our children about our history, people, geography, food, and culture along with the language.
Work..work..and..work !!! Who doesn't want a break from the busy schedule of the day to day life and live for himself/herself…? Who doesn't want to share some time with family and friends…?
Sport plays an important role in our life. Certain sports are very much popular among all age groups because it helps them to keep fit. Keeping the same in mind AOP organised a Badminton Tournament. The practice sessions continued for nearly four months and finally the Tournament held. After an intense and inspiring show from all participants during the league rounds, the top three players were awarded with AOP trophies.
AOP organised other events such as Utkal Divas, Republic Day, Independence Day, and Job postings on common groups and social media pages. Some of our widely acclaimed events include relief material to Phailin Cyclone affected people, BMS (Health and Fitness Program) and Aadhar Enrolment Program.
